A Return to Inspire, Encourage, and Evaluate
In January 2025, the Nikki Udezue Foundation (NUF) returned to one of its flagship initiatives—Future Invest 1.0—to reconnect with the young beneficiaries and assess the impact of the program nearly three years after its launch.
This visit was not just a check-in, but a reaffirmation of NUF's long-term commitment to education and youth empowerment. It brought warmth, excitement, and inspiration to both the students and their educators.
The NUF team was warmly received by the pupils, teachers, and the headmistress of the school where the Future Invest 1.0 project first took off in 2022. For many of the children, it was a joyful reunion. They remembered the books, school uniforms, and supplies that made a significant difference in their academic journey.
During the visit, the team engaged with the students through informal conversations and classroom interactions. The pupils excitedly shared stories of their growth—academically, socially, and emotionally—since the intervention. It was clear that the support they had received helped boost their confidence and commitment to learning.
NUF also met with the headmistress and several teachers, who shared insights into the progress the students have made since the Future Invest program began. According to the headmistress, attendance and participation among the supported pupils improved significantly after receiving the learning materials and other educational support. Many of the children who had once struggled to stay in school were now showing academic promise and a renewed sense of motivation.
The teachers expressed deep appreciation for NUF’s continued interest in the well-being of their students, emphasizing how rare it is for organizations to follow up after such projects.
As part of the visit, NUF gifted the pupils with more educational supplies to encourage them to keep striving for excellence. The gesture, though simple, sparked smiles and excitement among the children and reminded them that their dreams are valid, and that they are not forgotten.
The Future Invest project is built on the belief that every child deserves the tools and encouragement to succeed in school. Through regular assessments like this, NUF ensures that its support is impactful, meaningful, and sustainable.
NUF remains committed to deepening the Future Invest program, expanding its reach to more schools, and building stronger educational foundations for underserved children across communities. The January 2025 visit was a powerful reminder that change does not always happen overnight, but with consistency, compassion, and accountability, transformation is inevitable.
As always, NUF continues to call on stakeholders, supporters, and partners to join in this mission, to invest in the future, one child at a time.
