In continuation of the #BecauseICan campaign, the Nikki Udezue Foundation (NUF) on day two, carried out a heartwarming outreach focused on providing relief to patients in need of medical assistance. The Foundation visited several hospitals, offering direct support by paying medical bills, providing essential care packages, and standing in solidarity with families facing financial and emotional strain.
This phase of the campaign further emphasizes the core message of #BecauseICan—that when empowered individuals choose to make a difference, lives are transformed.
According to Mrs. Nkeiruka Udezue, Founder and President of NUF:
“The #BecauseICan initiative is about turning personal moments into purpose-driven impact. We’re grateful to our partners and sponsors for giving us the opportunity to help patients who might otherwise be unable to afford critical care.”
During the outreach, patients across different wards received financial aid to cover hospital bills, including emergency cases, maternity care, and post-surgical recovery needs. The Foundation also distributed hygiene essentials, snacks, and words of encouragement to patients and their families.
For many beneficiaries, the support came as a lifeline. One mother, whose child had been on admission for days, expressed deep gratitude for the unexpected assistance, saying:
“We were running out of options. I don’t know how to thank the people who came today. They showed up like angels.”
This visit reflects NUF’s continued commitment to compassionate giving, aligning with its mission to touch lives differently and bring practical hope to underserved individuals and communities.
Through this outreach, NUF once again demonstrates that small acts of kindness, powered by intention, can make a world of difference — simply because we can.
