December 16, 2024
On December 16, 2024, a wave of celebration swept through the Keida community as the Nikki Udezue Foundation (NUF), in partnership with the Sir Effor Foundation, officially commissioned the Water for Life (W4L) project, a fully solar-powered clean water system designed to serve the community, its school, and surrounding areas.
It was more than just a ceremony. It was a powerful moment of transformation, hope, and fulfillment. For the families of Keida, the arrival of safe, accessible water marked a new chapter in health, dignity, and opportunity.
The commissioning of the W4L project was the culmination of months of planning, assessment, engineering, and collaboration. With cheers and heartfelt gratitude, community members gathered to witness the switch-on of a facility that now provides sustainable, clean water—flowing freely and powered by the sun.
Children danced, elders smiled with relief, and women rejoiced knowing that the daily struggle to access safe water had finally come to an end.
The W4L system features:
A solar-powered borehole designed to function sustainably with minimal environmental impact
A robust distribution network to serve both the local school and households efficiently
Tiled, safe water points for hygienic access
A focus on long-term community health, WASH education, and environmental hygiene awareness
With this infrastructure now fully operational, lives will be saved, school attendance will improve, and the burden on women and children will be significantly reduced.
NUF extends sincere appreciation to the Sir Effor Foundation, whose unwavering support made this vision possible. Their dedication to sustainable development and community well-being shines through every drop of water now flowing in Keida.
To every donor, friend, and supporter who has journeyed with us from the beginning, thank you. Your belief in this mission fuels our drive to serve more communities in need.
At the Nikki Udezue Foundation, we believe that every drop counts. And with the commissioning of this water project, we’ve taken one giant step toward transforming lives and fostering resilience in underserved communities.
This is what impact looks like. And this is only the beginning.
